How to choose a mattress and pillow
The widespread belief that you should definitely sleep on a hard mattress, and instead of a pillow to lay a roller, orthopedists refute.
Under such conditions, the spine bends, and the blood circulation in it is disturbed. Sleep well on a semi-rigid bed: a solid wooden shield is at the bottom, a soft part 15–18 cm high is at the top. In no case should you put a roller under your head. Lateral tilt of the head leads to compression of the vertebral artery and can cause a stroke. The head should be positioned so that the pillow fills the space between it and the shoulder. The optimal posture for most people suffering from back pain is lying on their side with their hands under their heads.
